Do
your employees know the how, where and when to use fire extinguishers?
Do they know when to fight a fire and when to run? Did you know
that if you use the wrong extinguisher on the wrong type of fire,
you could injure yourself or make the fire worse? If your answer
to any of these questions is "No!" then you need to do
something about it.

might say, "Well, that's a no-brainer. Everyone knows how to
use one!"
In
reality, very few people know how to use a fire extinguisher properly.
And because of this, most people will run from a small fire that
could be safely controlled. As a result, the fire grows and there
is property damage, loss of equipment, and loss of revenue generation.
If
you think a fire can't happen to you, think again! In the United
States, every minute there are THREE fire station responses to a
call. The Canadian stats are similar: in 1999 Canadian fire departments
responded to 55,200 fire incidents, causing 388 civilian deaths,
1,718 injuries, and $1.232 billion (Canadian) in direct property
damage.
